Hank the Cowdog for a new generation

Recently we had the opportunity to do a complete redesign and build for one of our favorite children's book series, Hank the Cowdog. The goal of the redesign was to create a modern website that would introduce Hank to a new generation of young readers.

We designed a fun look for the website that matched the illustration style of the books, complete with slowly moving clouds and a background that expands with the browser window. Our objective was to appeal to young visitors and parents alike. Games, print-out activities and other fun elements were also created.

To maximize control over the content and provide a friendly platform for future development, a custom content system was developed using Ruby on Rails. Our admin interface allows the Hank staff to easily add content and images with no technical knowledge. The website will also detect the visitor's device, serving up a mobile version of the website when appropriate.
